MoRONic Declaration

Freedom of the Press

February 15, 2015

Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights asserts that “Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression. This right includes the right to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive or impart information and ideas using any media regardless of frontiers”. As a journalist my blog is protected by this Declaration and by the Human Rights Act in England and Wales.”

Those rights apply to us as well. Ron, and we do not promote quack cancer-cures or ‘free-energy’ scams or distort the public’s understanding of science. We are also protected against harassment by cranks who make false accusations concerning death-threats. So now you are a journalist as well, are you? Are not journalists supposed to be obsessed with the truth? How does that fit in with falsely claiming to be a Fellow of Lancaster University or claiming that your nutty theories are widely accepted? Just post your Press Card on your blog, and we shall question that particular point no further. Oh, did you mean ‘journalist’ in the sense of ‘someone who keeps a personal journal’? There you go with that convenient ambiguity again: like confusing ‘fellow and ‘Fellow’.
