Asked Swansea County Council for Bollards Outside My House

July 7, 2015

I phoned up traffic at the Council 01792 XXXXXX and asked for heavy duty bollards ten meters either side of the junction of Mountain Road and Rhyddwen Road, and opposite the junction, mentioning that I would pay for them.”

One can buy a concrete bollard for about £200. But here is the rub; the council would want to install them. We have no figures for this (perhaps Mr Richard would know) as regards bollards. However, in the case of a ‘sleeping policeman’ – which is essentially just a pile of asphalt – the materials cannot be very expensive and yet (with labour, etc.) they cost over £4000 each to the taxpayer. How nice of Ron to foot a probably similar bill for bollards.
