Professor Twat

Further Criticisms by Steve Crothers

March 8, 2016

I certainly hope they accept it. In the past some radical ideas have come from the Ivy league, notably Compton’s experimental proof of wave particle dualism at Princeton, and our very own B(3) field from Cornell, currently the world number four by webometrics. It would do any university a power of good to have Professor Crothers on the faculty.”

We predict that the paper will not be accepted. Why? There is now a huge number of so-called ‘predatory’ journals (one dodgy publisher launched 44 of them on the same day!) which have taken advantage of the apparently laudable trend towards open-access publication. It is a racket because these journals charge pathetic would-be scientists (like Ron and Sam Spade), who could never meet the standards of real journals, a lot of money per page. To maximize profits, the ‘editors’ then let through mind-bogglingly ludicrous ‘papers’. One ‘mathematical’ paper explained why, although two people may always differ in age, the ratio of their ages will diminish with time. Can you believe that such tripe was published in a so-called academic journal? It barely goes over the head of Sesame Street! However, looking at past issues of the journal to which Spade has sent his nonsense, it seems that this is a bona fide journal. How can the layman distinguish a good journal from a bad one? The main clue is that loony writers are always negative saying, like Ron and Spade, that all of real physics is wrong. Real journals contain papers which seek to explicate and clarify awkward aspects of experimentally-supported theories. For the newcomer, we add that Crothers is not a professor, has never been a professor and never will be a professor (except in the minds, and ‘institutes’,  of other crackpots). He told the Natural Philosophy Alliance (a nest of the worst pseudoscientists) that he was a gardener and odd-job man. He told Facebook that he was a private detective. The only thing that is certain is that he is a failed PhD student who could not understand the subtleties of mathematics as applied to General Relativity.
